Your Most Versatile Summer Item!
These beautiful lightweight towels come in a graphic pattern of black stripes with a bold coloured edge with tassels.
They're supersoft and highly absorbent, thanks to a unique fabric called 'Thorthu' which is ubiquitous in the state of Kerala, India. The finely woven cotton material is composed of twin cotton fibres hand-woven on traditional wooden looms. From spinning the raw cotton into yarn, dyeing it, weaving and sewing the pieces together, to tying the tassels on the edges - the towel is entirely handmade.
Use as a scarf, a wrap, sarong, beach towel, bath towel, picnic rug, yoga mat, and much more! :)

The Producers
I love everything that Kara Weaves stands for. Set up by a mother-daughter duo, this female partnership work with local cooperatives to preserve traditional weaving techniques on a wooden loom, to produce fantastic quality, contemporary products which are built to last.
Every purchase ensures the artisans are paid a fair wage and preserves weaving techniques that are at risk of otherwise disappearing.
